Slow Food Roaring Fork/ Aspen and Restaurant Six89 are busy making plans for the Third Annual Slow Food Roaring Fork Harvest Social, to be held a Restaurant Six89 in Carbondale, at 7 p.m. on Monday, September 18.
This annual event brings together some of the finest chefs in Colorado to celebrate our state's bounty. Each of chefs will create one course of hors d'oervres and one dinner course, each highlighting a locally produced food item. From organic heirloom tomatoes to wild harvested mushrooms to grass-fed beef and lamb, if it grows on Colorado's Western Slope, you'll find it on a plate at this event.
The Harvest Social is a fund-raising event for Slow Food Roaring Fork/Aspen, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting local agriculture and food traditions. Prices for the event are $96.89 for Slow Food members and $116.89 for non-members, which includes the full dinner and wine. To make reservations by credit card, please call Six89 at 963-6890. The two previous Harvest Socials have sold out well before the event date.
