EVENTS THAT ARE HISTORY
Slow Food's March of the Chefs
THE EVENT: Restaurant Six89 and Woody Creek Cellars with Kevin Doyle
THE DATE: 29 March 2007
THE TIME: 7pm
THE PLACE: SIX89
Increasingly, Americans recognize that food is at the intersection of important environmental, social, and economic issues. Mark Fischer of Restaurant Six89 joins Slow Food to share the lessons of Terra Madre – Slow Food’s bi-annual gathering of farmers, fishermen, herders, chefs, and academics from over 150 countries in Turin, Italy – and a wonderful meal with our food community.
Throughout March, chefs who attended Terra Madre are joining Slow Food’s March of the Chefs to defend agricultural diversity and bring Slow Food’s vision of food that is good, clean, and fair to America. The event’s proceeds will benefit Slow Food Nation, Slow Food’s celebration of America’s food traditions, debuting May 1-4, 2008, in San Francisco.
Sharing the evening and the table with members of our community is a rare privilege and an excellent opportunity. A six wine dinner with food matching is the call for the evening. The price is $68.90 per person, plus tax & gratuity. Seating and service is family–style and extremely limited. Please call Restaurant Six89 for reservations; 970.963.6890.
