The vintner dinner will feature the wines of Torbreck Vintners, from Barossa, Australia. The wines of Torbreck have received acclaim in the Australian, European and U.S. media. Torbreck founder and winemaker David Powell will present the wines. Torbreck is said to produce some of the world’s finest Rhone varietal wines, exclusively from Barossa fruit, including Shiraz, Grenache and Mouvedre. The overwhelming majority of Torbreck vines are dry-grown, nearly all are 80 to 125 years old and are tended and harvested by hand.

All profits from the vintner dinner will benefit the Windows of Hope Family Relief Fund. The fund provides aid to the families of victims of the World Trade Center tragedy, who worked in the food service profession at the World Trade Center complex.



The Windows of Hope Family Relief Fund was established by David Emil, owner of Windows on the World; Tom Valenti, Chef/Owner, Ouest Restaurant; and Waldy Malouf, Chef/Owner, Beacon Restaurant. Administrative costs of the Windows of Hope Family Relief Fund will be less than 10 percent of funds raised.
