SLOW FOOD ROARING FORK AND TOP CHEFS CELEBRATE SUMMER’S BOUNTY
August 2nd Fund-Raiser at Restaurant SIX89 in Carbondale Aspen, COLO (June 25, 2004)—Slow Food Roaring Fork and a dazzling lineup of top chefs from the Roaring Fork Valley and Denver will team up at Carbondale’s Restaurant SIX89 on Monday, August 2nd at 6 p.m. to celebrate summer’s bounty with a spectacular dinner. The price, including dinner, wines, tax, and gratuity, is $68.90 for Slow Food members and $78.90 for non-members. This fund-raising event will feature hosts Chef Mark Fischer and Philip Kendzior and guest chefs including Dena Marino of Ajax Tavern, Matt Zubrod of Willow Creek Bistro at the Ritz-Carlton Club, Barclay Dodge of Restaurant Mogador, Frank Bonanno of Denver’s Mizuna and Luca d’Italia, Adrian Carpenet of Basalt's Dogwood Grill and Kyle Barker of Carbondale’s Phat Thai. Wines for the event will be provided by Steve Rhodes of Hotchkiss-based S. Rhodes Vineyards. The chefs will transform their favorite local foods, including peaches, corn, tomatoes, lamb, chanterelles, and local eggs, into a memorable multi-course meal. The dinner is a benefit for the newly formed Slow Food Roaring Fork chapter. Slow Food is a worldwide, non-profit educational organization dedicated to ecologically sound food production; the revival of the kitchen and the table as centers of pleasure and community; the preservation of regional, seasonal culinary traditions; and to living life at a slower, more harmonious pace.
